DESCRIPTION

Antique silver and tortoise shell pin box made by Mappin and Webb. Beautifully adorned tortoise shell pin box with three individual applications of British silver hallmarks on the top for Mappin and Webb (M & W), Sheffield (crown) , sterling silver (lion) and letter date for 1897 (e). Finished in a beautiful green crushed velvet on the inside lid this stunning and rare sewing accessories by an exquisite maker would suit any vanity or jewelry case for the elegant lady.

MEASUREMENTS

Mappin and Webb box measures 4" long by 2.5" wide by 1.25" thick.

CONDITION

In good condition with a chip of tortoise shell missing from the inside lip near the clasp (image 4)and two small cracks on the same rim near the right hand side of the box but not missing - please see all pictures as they form part of the description.
