Vintage French Clay Gambier 802 Pipe
Antique French clay pipe made by Gambier of Paris. Model number 802 portrays a French soldier with beard and kepi(looks like a Zouave) dates to 1868/9. This vintage pipe retains its original wooden stem and being of a military nature is a little rarer. The character of the beard allowed the pipe to be held by the bowl without burning the smokers fingers. Gambier of Paris were one of the largest pipe makers in the world at the end of the 19th century especially for clay pipes of quality.
