1900 Antique Advertising Pacific Mills Cotton Wood Display Case Salesman Sample
DESCRIPTION
Antique wooden advertising display box. Manufactured by the Pacific Mills company of Lawrence, Massachusetts this is a salesman sample to display their various types and grades of cotton. Beautiful late 19th C. Pacific Mills dark wooden sample case with a clear glass top displays the 3 stages of production: the raw fiber product, intermediate stage processing & final cloth sample. The beautiful lidded box is separated into 11 sections containing 23 samples. The decals on the side and top of the box are in excellent condition, bright and clear. Dating to around the 1890's this highlighted the mills products which ranged from divers cloth fabrics, calicos, lawns, & shirtings, with over 200,000 spindles in operation.
