Antique religious Band of Hope Union medal. Dated for the 1901 recruiting drive that coincided with the coronation of Edward VII who was their patron this shield shaped medal is made from white metal an was presented to a recipient for excelling in diligent recruiting. Medals such as this were proudly worn and encouraged others to promote abstinence from alcohol.
