Vintage Arts and Crafts miniature portable secretary. This antique correspondents lap desk is made in the form of a coal scuttle. It contains a glass inkwell in the center, a small pull out drawer which may have housed writing implements and a series of horizontal shelves for paper. The front drops down to act as a writing slope. This piece dates to the turn of the 20th century as intimated by the style and use of wood.

This wooden letter holder is a great addition to your vintage home office decor as a practical or decorative piece of decor.

MEASUREMENTS

Box measures 6.5" tall by 5.75" wide by 8.65" deep and weighs 2lb 0oz.

CONDITION

The box is in nice condition. The glass inkwell is chipped and broken on top. The small drawer on the lefthand side had a small screw as a handle which must be a replacement for the original handle (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
