Vintage AJS & Co drafting stencils in wooden box. Vintage stencil equipment in wooden box with finger jointing. Not quite sure what these were used for but they are perhaps stencils used in draftsman drawings. This is a British made set as indicated by the denotation mark II on each stencil and the oak box which is constructed using finger jointing dates this to the beginning of the 20th century. The only reference I can find to AJS is the motorcycle company from the UK which ties in with date and location.

Each piece is marked: AJS & Co Mark II (one has the letter B and one has the letter C and one has the letter D)

Box has pencil mark on base 0820

MEASUREMENTS

Pieces measure 8" long (the box measures 13" long by 5" wide by 1" tall) and weighs 13.4oz.
