Antique British Porcelain Pottery George Jones Majolica Wash Basin and Pitcher
Very rare antique British porcelain pottery wash basin and pitcher set. Made by George Jones in Stoke on Trent this stone china set is beautifully decorated with transfer images of birds, lizards and foliage. The handle is in the guise of a salamander wrapped around the pitcher. Both parts are marked with the English diamond registration mark used between 1842 and 1883. This pitcher was patented by the noted maker George Jones on April 21st, 1874 and the bowl was patented on February 11th 1870.

Marked on base of pitcher: IV, 19, 6, 9, 1 in diamond 3824 in green ink
