Antique French Sevres Bisque Head Of Boy Bust Sculpture Brongniart After Houdon
DESCRIPTION
Original white bisque porcelain bust and plinth made by the French porcelain company Sevres dating to the early 20th century. The bust depicts the head of Alexandre Brongniart looking up to the left as sculpted by Jean Antoine Houdon. The subject was the child of the founder of the Sevres factory Alexandre Brongniart, having been director of the Sèvres Porcelain Factory from 1800 to 1847.
Marked on the back of the bust: Alexandre Brongniart Sevres pottery Mark
Marked underneath the plinth: Made in France
MEASUREMENTS
Sculpture measures 16.5" tall by 6" deep by 10.25" wide and weighs 9lbs 6oz.
CONDITION
