Antique presentation full hunter pocket watch. Antique English pocket watch with Independent Order of Rechabites Medal is made from aluminum gold dating it prior to 1888 when aluminum was rare and expensive to manufacture. When the electrolyte refining process developed in 1888 the price of aluminum dropped completely whereas before this it was more expensive than gold. This British antique watch was an expensive presentation gift to a Temperance member of the Rechabites. This piece comes complete with its original aluminum gold double Albert chain and pocket fob encapsulated medal. The watch is engine turned beautifully throughout with a blank cartouche on the front ready to be engraved with the initials of the new owner.

Watch measures 2.25" diameter by 0.5" deep, medal measures 1.75" diameter and altogether weigh 7oz.

CONDITION

In nice working condition considering age and use - please see all pictures as they form part of the description. It is suggested that all watches and clocks be serviced once they are received to ensure that they are correctly calibrated after transportation. This watch was serviced less than 2 months ago and keeps good time.
