Antique primitive scrolling plane with metal guide. Wood and metal tool made in the late 19th century (1880's) as used by an artisan carpenter. I can only assume this was perhaps a marking tool to prepare wood for router work in the late 19th century. The metal guide is adjustable as is the depth of the rotating blade underneath which is altered by the metal wheel under the handle.

This would make a great birthday gift, tool or woodworking collection or as a decorative wall hanging in a unique home.

Tool measures 11“ long by 9" wide by 6" tall and weighs 1lb 15oz.
