DESCRIPTION

Antique Temperance Army religious medal and ribbon. Featuring an enamel bar with an Irish ribbon and enamel British coat of arms inset to a brass Maltese Cross this Edwardian enamel medal was worn by members of the Temperance army society who had been sober for 1 year. Members were awarded badges and medals according to their length of sobriety and service in encouraging others to lead a life of sobriety.

Unmarked on back

Medal measures 1.25" long by 1.25" wide and with ribbon 4.25" long and weighs 0.6oz.
