Vintage 1950s oil on board railway painting. Train station scene at night by F Celchados depicting a nightwatchman with a lamp meeting the train in the station. This vintage atmospheric painting has an almost primitive but accomplished style as established by the use of light from several sources throughout the scene. It appears to be of a rural train station in Mexico as all the dedications and signatures on the back are officially stamped with official mayor and superintendents offices in Queretaro, Mexico. Dated for 1953 there are other dedications on the back of this art which I cannot decipher, but it may have been part of an exhibition or a presentation piece to an official.
