Vintage Young America Weighing Scales
Antique pressed metal shipping scale. Manufactured during the early 1900's this Young America weighing scale was used for general store items and parcels. The pressed tin metal body is painted in black with only the image of a young patriotic sailor holding the American flag on either side.
The brass front dial displays weight up to 20lbs and has been calibrated with the metal framed tile on top which swivels freely.
These antique scales were common in post offices and country stores at the turn of the 20th century. This would make a great addition to any antique country store display or could still be used as a scale today in a modern household in the kitchen.
