Antique 19th C Framed Miniature Scenic Paintings After Boucher
Pair of framed signed antique 19th C framed miniature scenic paintings. Romantic scenes are depicted on both round miniatures and appear to be in the style after Boucher.
The painting depicting the lady reading in a yellow dress whilst being serenaded was a famous painting by Francois Boucher in 1749 called "Lesson Francais". On the paper back it is inscribed in pencil F Boucher. This depiction was created by an artist with the initials M B signed on the left hand side of the painting.
The painting depicting the lovers has the distinct appearance of a Boucher painting in both style and composition. This was painted by the artist David Bioudoin. As expertly and finely painted the subject matter is more appealing, the working class farmer and his lover.
A great addition to your early Victorian decor home, a great birthday, early holiday gift or the perfect gift for a miniature painting collector.
