Igor de Kansky Abstract Art Lacquer Painting ~ 24" by 16"
Vintage original Igor de Kansky abstract art lacquer painting. Visually stunning piece of abstract lacquer work composed by Igor de Kansky in 1966 in fabulous red and gold. Signed on the reverse with his name and the year he often did not sign the front of his pieces according to his wife who confirmed that this was one of her late husbands artworks. Untitled other than its obvious form of "Red & Gold" this lacquer work is typical of de Kanskys early abstract style and medium.
De Kansky was commissioned for many magnificent public works throughout his long and illustrious career, one of his most famous being the ceiling painting at St. Vibiana's Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles.
Marked on back: Kansky 66. Nina C G Bushnell, Altadena, Calif
Provenance: came from estate in Pasadena and had been purchased directly from the artist
Confirmed by authentic by his wife and includes complete resume including list of commissions. This would make a great birthday gift or as a great addition to any eclectic or mid century home decor.
